Louisiana postpones Dem primaries over COVID-19
The state of Louisiana will postpone the holding of Democratic primaries scheduled for April 4 over concerns of the coronavirus spreading, a spokesperson for Louisiana secretary of state Kyle Ardoin revealed to CNBC on Friday.
The state will reschedule the nominating contests for June 20 and July 25, becoming the first to take such a measure due to the pandemic.
The move comes a day after the Democratic National Committee announced it is relocating the next Democratic debate from Arizona to CNN’s Washington DC studio with no live audience.
