Trump: Not thinking about national lockdown
Addressing the public on Friday, US President Donald Trump said the administration is “not considering” putting the entire country under lockdown as the majority of states are not experiencing a high number of COVID-19 cases with New York, Florida, California and Washington currently being the only “hot spots.”
Trump said that thanks to invoking the Defense Production Act “millions of masks” are being produced to be distributed across the nation as he hailed the work done by governors to uphold the administration’s guidelines.
Asked to comment on reports that Democrats in Congress are accusing the White House of focusing the third aid package on corporations rather than workers, Trump said that the assistance will be equally directed to companies to “keep going” and their workers so that they can have paid sick leaves without putting an additional burden on their employees.
