Italy reports 727 new coronavirus deaths
The death toll from coronavirus jumped by 727 or 5.8% over the past 24 hours in Italy to 13,155 nationwide, the country’s health authorities unveiled on Wednesday. The country’s mortality rate from the infection stood at 11.9%, while the daily increase in new fatalities related to coronavirus was lower compared to the previous two updates.
Meanwhile, a total of 66 doctors in Italy have died after contracting coronavirus since the beginning of the outbreak.
Confirmed COVID-19 cases surged by 4,782 or 4.5% compared to yesterday’s figure, reaching a total of 110,574 infections in Italy. The daily growth in new coronavirus cases was slightly higher compared to the previous two days, while 16,847 Italian citizens successfully recovered from coronavirus since the pandemic started.
