EIA: US crude inventories up by 13.8 million barrels
Commercial crude oil inventories in the United States, which are not taking into account those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, increased by 13.8 million barrels to 469.2 million barrels in the week ending March 27, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported on Wednesday.
US crude oil refinery inputs averaged 14.9 million barrels per day, down by 0.9 million barrels per day from the previous week. Refineries operated at 82.3% of their capacity, while gasoline production declined, averaging 7.5 million barrels per day.
Imports of crude oil in the US averaged 6 million barrels per day, 70,000 barrels per day less compared to the previous week. Total commercial petroleum inventories rose by 21 million barrels.
