UK number of COVID-19 cases climbs to 98,476
The number of confirmed cases in the United Kingdom climbed by 4,603 on Wednesday to reach 98,476, the country’s Department of Health and Social Care said.
The death toll in the country reached 12,868 with 761 people dead from coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
Last week, UK Chief Scientific Officer Sir Patrick Vallance warned that the number of infections in the country may be much higher and that up to 10,000 have already contracted the virus but haven’t been diagnosed with it yet.
