Johnson: Still not the time to end lockdown
United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Sunday that, although the coronavirus is past its peak, it is still not the time to end the lockdown.
The UK will still recommend all those who can work from home to do so, but is encouraging those in jobs that cannot be done remotely, such as construction, to start going to work. The prime minister noted shops and primary schools will open in June at the earliest, while restaurants and hotels will stay closed at least until July.
Johnson also announced the country is establishing a COVID-19 alert system to warn the public of the level of the threat of the virus based on the number of cases and the virus reproduction rate.
