Frost: UK hopeful of deal with EU despite limited progress
United Kingdom’s Chief Brexit Negotiator David Frost (pictured right) said on Friday that London remains hopeful of reaching a trade agreement with the European Union before the end of the transition period despite “limited” progress in today’s virtual talks.
“If we are to make progress, it is clear that we must intensify and accelerate our work,” Frost stressed and added Britain is willing to work hard towards an agreement, which must include a “level-playing field on fisheries and other difficult issues.”
Earlier, EU’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier stated no progress was made in the latest talks as the UK has “not shown any true will” to resolve the fisheries issue.
