Japan hopes to start COVID-19 vaccination in early 2021
Japanese Health, Labor and Welfare Minister Katsunobu Kato stated on Friday that the best Japanese pharma companies and institutes are working on developing a vaccine and drugs against the novel coronavirus. He added that the vaccination of people should begin in the first part of 2021.
“We strive for the soonest implementation [of the vaccination], the goal is the first half of 2021,” he said.
According to the latest information, Japan has 17,700 people reportedly infected with COVID-19 so far, while 903 people died. More than 15,500 people have been recovered.
