Afghan cabinet inauguration set for Sep 11
The inauguration of the new Taliban-led transitional government in Afghanistan was scheduled for September 11, the day of 20-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York.
Media reports suggest that several countries were invited to the inauguration ceremony, the list includes Russia, China, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan and Iran.
The European Union had found the new Afghani government neither inclusive nor representative of the country’s minorities. At least four Taliban cabinet members were released from the Guantanamo Bay prison in 2014.
