AIG promotes new insurance business CEO
American International Group Inc. revealed on Thursday that David McElroy became the new chief executive officer of General Insurance and the new executive vice president for the entire corporation.
McElroy has been promoted from the role of president and chief executive officer of the North American operations of General Insurance. He will report to AIG’s President and Global Chief Operating Officer Peter Zaffino.
“I am pleased to announce this well-deserved promotion and look forward to continuing to work closely with Dave and our world-class General Insurance leadership team as we continue to build momentum and deliver on our strategy to achieve underwriting excellence and profitable growth,” Zaffino commented on the hire.
