Airbnb’s Q4 net income recovers to $55 million
Airbnb Inc. posted on Tuesday a 38% annual increase in fourth-quarter revenue which surged to $1.5 billion, with net income reaching record $55 million. The company’s adjusted EBITDA marked its most profitable quarter ever at $333 million.
The number of bookings at Airbnb expanded by 59% versus the last trimester of 2020 to 73.4 million, reaching a gross booking value of $11.3 billion after jumping by 91% in the same period.
“We continue to be encouraged by what we are seeing year to date in 2022: the impact of Omicron has quickly dissipated and guests are confidently booking for the summer travel season early in the year. In the US and Europe in particular, we are seeing lead-time for bookings made in Q1 2022 return to pre-pandemic levels,” Airbnb commented on the outlook.
