Apple: Self Service Repair to launch in 2022
Apple Inc. announced on Wednesday the Self Service Repair, which will provide users access to the company’s “genuine parts and tools” if they decide to fix their Apple devices on their own.
The service will be available for iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 in the United States early next year and will be expanded to Mac computers with M1 chips “soon” after that, the company revealed. More countries will gain access to Self Service Repair “throughout 2022,” according to the tech giant.
“The initial phase of the program will focus on the most commonly serviced modules, such as the iPhone display, battery, and camera. The ability for additional repairs will be available later next year,” Apple specified.
