Asia higher after good COVID-19 related data
Major stock market indexes in Asia traded higher on Monday on some good data regarding the coronavirus spread. In China, there were only 3 new COVID-19 infections while South Korea had only 10. Also, Japan Ministry of Finance said it expects Bank of Japan to continue supporting financial stability and local companies’ cash flow.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 increased by 2.16% at 4:30 am CET, while the dollar stood flat against the yen, going for ¥107.4995 at 04:39 am CET.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng added 1.63% at 4:39 am CET, while, on the Chinese mainland, the Shenzhen Composite traded 0.86% higher at the same time, with the Shanghai Composite gaining 0.66% at 4:34 am CET.
South Korea’s Kospi Composite was up 1.57% at 4:40 am CET, while the Australian S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.65% at the same time.
