Asia indexes lower, Hang Seng drops over 1%
Asian markets traded with losses during Friday’s afternoon session as investors continued to focus on earnings. Honda was among companies reporting their results today, noting its revenue slid 7% in its second fiscal quarter.
The Nikkei 225 ended the day 0.61% lower. The dollar was down 0.06% against the yen to go for 113.6755 at 7:11 am CET.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng dropped 1.31% at 7:12 am CET as PetroChina and HSBC plunged more than 4%. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite fell 0.68% at 7:12 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite lost 0.31 at 6:59 am CET.
In South Korea, the Kospi declined 0.61% at 7:14 am CET. Meanwhile, Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.39% at the end of the session.
