Asia mostly higher on China-EU deal hopes
Major stock markets in Asia-Pacific traded higher on Friday amid the hopes China and the European Union would soon reach an agreement over their investment deal. The bloc previously successfully concluded the negotiations with the United Kingdom over their post-Brexit trade relations.
The Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index rose by 0.52% at 4:08 am CET, while the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Composite Index went up by 0.61% at 4:24 am CET. On the other hand, Japan’s Nikkei stood flat at 4:42 am CET.
South Korea’s Kospi, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng, and Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 were all closed for Christmas Day.
