Asia-Pacific trades mixed on Evergrande news
Major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed on Monday, as the Hong Long exchange announced it stopped trading shares of the China Evergrande Group. Meanwhile, tensions seem to be easing on the Korean Peninsula as North and South Korea restore their hotline.
The Nikkei 225 decreased 1.05% at 4:29 am ET, as the dollar stood flat against the yen trading for ¥111.0420 at the same time. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.95% a minute later, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng concurrently dropped 2.47%.
Markets in mainland China and South Korea were closed due to a market holiday.
