Asian markets higher as restrictions ease
Stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region traded higher on Monday as governments around the world start to ease restrictions put in place to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Media reported Japan’s government is preparing a second coronavirus budget to fund economic relief measures.
The Nikkei 225 index was up 1.42% at 4:25 am CET. The dollar increased 0.21% at ¥106.8660 at the same time.
The Shanghai Composite gained 0.23% at 4:25 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite advanced 0.20% at 4:26 am CET. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng rose 1.97% concurrently.
South Korea’s Kospi grew 0.29% at 4:07 am CET and the Australian S&P/ASX jumped 0.50% at 4:27 am CET.
