Austrian parliament passes mandatory COVID vaccination
Austrian Parliament passed on Thursday a bill making vaccination against COVID-19 mandatory for adults in the country, as reported by local media.
Mandatory vaccination will begin on February 1, making it the first vaccine mandate against the widespread coronavirus in the entire European Union. The law will not apply to persons under 18 years of age, pregnant women, or those with a medical exemption.
Until today, about 75% of the Austrian population has been vaccinated at least once against the Covid-19, and 72% are fully vaccinated.
