Barr advised Trump against Roger Stone move – official
United Attorney General William Barr (pictured) advised President Donald Trump against commuting his former advisor Roger Stone’s sentence, an administration official told NBC News on Saturday.
The official added that the Department of Justice had “nothing to do” with it and that other members of the president’s administration also warned him of the political consequences of such a decision.
Roger Stone was sentenced to 40 months in prison February for or obstruction of justice in February before Trump decided to grant him clemency earlier this week.
