Beijing calls all countries not to meddle in HK affairs
China reiterated on Friday that Hong Kong is part of its internal affairs and that no other country has the right to intervene. Chinese Foreign Ministry pledged it will “take countermeasures to any interference on our internal affairs,” adding that no one, including the United States, has no right to meddle.
Foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian made the remarks at a daily briefing adding Beijing had “lodged representations to the United States, Britain, Canada and Australia in response to their joint statement criticizing Beijing for the security bill.”
US President Donald Trump is expected to hold a press conference later in the day regarding “China problems.” The US over the last few days has expressed concerns over the new Chinese law on Hong Kong and has hinted taking steps against it.
