Beijing to cancel nearly 70% of flights over virus – report
Nearly 70% of flights to and from Beijing Capital International Airport were halted on Wednesday, China’s Global Times media outlet reported citing data obtained from civil aviation data tracking service.
As of 9:10 am local time a total of 1,255 flights are expected to be canceled following Beijing’s decision to increase the coronavirus emergency response to level 2, after finding infection clusters in the city.
Standing at 615, the number of delayed outbound flights makes 67.14% of the total fights out of the city, while 68.38% or 640 flights into the capital were also halted.
