Biden agreed with Putin to continue diplomatic efforts
United States President Joe Biden asserted on Tuesday that the US, NATO nor Ukraine represent a threat to Russia and are not looking to destabilize it.
Addressing the nation, Biden confirmed that NATO doesn’t have missiles placed in Ukraine and isn’t planning on deploying them in the country. “The US is prepared no matter what happens,” Biden stressed, adding that he agreed with Russian President Vladimir Putin to continue diplomatic efforts to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis.
However, the US president said that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is “still very much a possibility,” with no confirmation that around 150,000 Russian troops deployed near the Ukraine border started returning to their home bases.
