Biden, Bennett agree Iran must never develop nuclear weapons
United States President Joe Biden had a meeting in the White House with the Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Friday, during which among many topics they discussed nuclear talks with Iran and agreed that Teheran can never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. The two leaders also admitted there are other measures to use against Iran if diplomacy doesn’t work.
Bennett called Iran a global exporter of terrorism, instability and human rights violations. However, he stressed that Israel “will never outsource” its security and won’t ask the US to send its troops. He also thanked Biden for the financial aid that supports Israel’s Iron Dome system.
The meeting of the two officials was postponed from Thursday following deadly terrorist attacks in Kabul. In his opening remarks, Bennett extended his condolences to the American people, while Biden stressed that US-Israeli relations are “as strong as can be”.
