Biden declares major disaster in Kentucky
United States President Joe Biden approved a major disaster declaration for Kentucky in an effort to mitigate the effects of the deadly tornadoes that swept through the state over the weekend.
After the decision, Kentucky is set to receive up to $5 million in assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
The state’s Governor Andy Beshear made the request for the administration to declare a major disaster after upwards of 70 may have died in the devastating storms.
