Biden picks Jennifer Psaki to be WH press secretary
United States President-elect Joe Biden announced in a statement he has chosen American political advisor Jennifer Psaki to be the White House press secretary once he takes office in January.
Under his administration, the senior communications team will be comprised of only female members for the first time in the country’s history, led by his campaign communications director Kate Bedingfield who will keep the role of communications director in the White House. Meanwhile, political consultant Neera Tanden is set to be named director of the influential Office of Management and Budget (OMB), making her the first woman in charge of the OMB.
“These qualified, experienced communicators bring diverse perspectives to their work and a shared commitment to building this country back better,” Biden explained.
