Biden strongly considering Emanuel for transportation secy
United States President-elect Joe Biden is “strongly” considering appointing former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to be the next secretary of transportation, Axios reported citing Ray LaHood, who formerly held that post.
“Everybody’s on hold until they see what the administration is going to do about Rahm,” LaHood said. “You’re talking about 20-25% of the economy,” he added, talking about the Department of Transportation, which left-punching Emanuel would run.
Biden began putting together the members of his future administration after the General Services Administration (GSA) allowed for his stalled transition process to officially begin.
