Biden to nominate Blinken as secretary of state – reports
United States President-elect Joe Biden is set to nominate his longtime aide Anthony Blinken (pictured) as secretary of state, several US media outlets reported citing people close to Biden.
According to the reports, Biden is also expected to name Jake Sullivan his national security advisor. The president-elect is expected to make the announcements on Tuesday.
In the Obama-Biden administration, Blinken served as deputy secretary of state from 2015 to 2017 and was the deputy national security advisor and national security advisor to the vice president before that.
