Biden: US still far from recovering from COVID-19
Economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic is still “a long way away,” according to the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee in the 2020 presidential election Joe Biden.
Speaking on CNBC’s Squawk Box on Friday, the former vice president criticized Republican tax cuts of an estimated cost of $2.3 trillion by stating that money could have been used better during a crisis like COVID-19. “Imagine if we had that $2 trillion now as we go into, God willing, a recovery which is a long way away as I see it right now,” Biden said of the tax cuts President Donald Trump signed in 2017.
Biden is seen denying Trump a second term as president in November’s election, according to a number of nationwide polls.
