Biden wants to meet with Putin despite Russia’s troop build up
United States President Joe Biden said in a briefing on Friday that he is still looking to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, despite Russia’s aggressive buildup of troops on the border with Ukraine.
“There is no impact on my desire for the one-on-one meeting and if you noticed he had more troops before, he’s withdrawing troops. There’s still troops amassed, but significantly less than he had a month ago,” Biden said.
When asked if the meeting between the two leaders will take place in June, the president replied that specifics are still unknown as “that’s being worked on.”
