Biden’s admin defends Trump-backed oil project
United States President Joe Biden’s White House has backed an oil development project allowed by the former administration, the US Department of the Interior announced.
The decision to defend ConocoPhillips’ Willow project in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska was made despite Interior Secretary Deb Haaland not being in favor of the move, according to Politico.
The development plan would potentially produce up to 160,000 barrels of crude a day and Washington first approved it during former President Donald Trump’s term in office.
