Biden’s team ‘concerned’ by DoD’s cooperation halt
United States President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team expressed on Friday its concerns over the Department of Defense’s “abrupt halt in the already limited cooperation,” as well as its expectations the decision would be reversed.
“Let me be clear – there was no mutually agreed-upon holiday break,” the transition team’s executive director Yohannes Abraham stressed. “In fact, we think it’s important that briefings and other engagements continue during this period, as there’s no time to spare.”
Earlier in the day, it was reported the Pentagon had stopped briefing Biden’s team on its work. Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller later claimed both sides took a “mutually agreed-upon holiday pause.”
