Bolsonaro: Coronavirus lockdown kills economy
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said the lockdown and restrictions imposed to combat the coronavirus pandemic “kill” and “suffocate” economy.
“Without salaries and jobs, people die,” he commented. Bolsonaro, who recently tested positive for COVID-19, added he is feeling well thanks to hydroxychloroquine, which United States President Donald Trump advocated as a treatment for the disease.
Earlier this week, Minister of Economy Paulo Guedes announced the tax reform recommended by Bolsonaro’s government as a measure of combating the economic crisis caused by the pandemic is now ready to be voted on.
