Car bomb explodes near Somali presidential palace
A car bomb exploded in the Somali capital of Mogadishu on Saturday, local police confirmed. The attack took place at a checkpoint close to the country’s presidential palace and parliament.
The incident took place when a car, filled with explosives, passed through a checkpoint without stopping. Thereafter security officials fired at the vehicle and it exploded as it drove off, close to a second checkpoint. The number of casualties is still undetermined, police officials said.
The attack hasn’t been claimed by any group yet.
