Cavusoglu: Russia, Turkey to discuss Karabakh
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu confirmed on Thursday Ankara and Russia would meet on Friday and discuss the creation of a joint monitoring center in Nagorno-Karabakh, which will serve as an observant and controller of the ceasefire between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Cavusoglu noted Russia’s “significant” role for peace in the territory and added the position of the center would be agreed upon at that meeting.
Earlier this week, Moscow announced Russia and Turkey would form a joint center in Nagorno-Karabakh after Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to a ceasefire in the region.
