China 2021 GDP growth target at above 6% – Li
Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang (pictured) stated on Friday that the government will aim for GDP growth of over 6% for 2021.
Speaking at “two sessions” at this year’s National People’s Congress, Li revealed that Beijing will be targeting an annual inflation rate of approximately 3% and that China’s fiscal budget deficit will amount to 3.2% of GDP for 2021. China plans to employ 11 million people in the urban areas of the country in 2021 and estimates the urban unemployment rate at about 5.5%.
China will reduce the energy consumption per unit of GDP by approximately 3% in 2021, and by 13.5% by 2025, Li specified.
