China ‘firmly opposes’ US interference in internal affairs
China’s foreign affairs head Yang Jiechi said on Thursday that the country “firmly opposes the United States interfering in its internal affairs.” He also accused the US of using its “military might and financial supremacy” to pressure other countries to attack China, as well as of abusing “concepts of national security to threaten the future of international trade.”
However, Yang said that the two countries should not let their relations deteriorate further. At a meeting with Biden administration officials in Alaska, he also called on both sides to “stop the trend of difficulties.”
