China slams US, Japan, Australia’s defense deals
The United States, Japan, and Australia’s “clique” is targeting other countries and goes against peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin stated on Friday.
Wang stressed Beijing’s “strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition” to defense agreements Japan signed with the United States and Australia, respectively. He also labeled them as a way for those nations to “grossly interfere in China’s internal affairs, fabricate false information to discredit China, and undermine unity and mutual trust among regional countries.”
His comments come after two defense agreements Japan signed earlier in the week, one with the US and one with Australia.
