China slams US’s ‘zero-sum mentality’
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Zhao Lijian dismissed on Friday what he described as the United States’ “zero-mentality” that goes against China’s development and “the fundamental interests of the two peoples or trend of times.”
Zhao stressed Beijing also rejects Washington’s “confrontational” and “arrogant attitude” in “dealing with China from a position of strength.” “We didn’t accept it in Anchorage, let alone in Tianjin,” he said.
His remarks come ahead of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s meeting with US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman in Tianjin.
