China to strengthen armed forces – Li
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang revealed at the opening of the annual National People’s Congress meeting that Beijing intends to strengthen its army through reform, science technology and training of capable personnel.
He commended the national defense advancements made to date adding that the country intends to implement President Xi Jinping’s idea to continue with improving its military strategy for the “new era.”
Li explained that the goal is to ensure the governing party’s absolute leadership over the armed forces by boosting the mood for training and preparedness and improving the layout of defense-related science and technology.
