China’s coronavirus data is transparent – Xi
China’s President Xi Jinping said on Tuesday the country’s coronavirus numbers were reported with transparency, adding that the nation had acted in an open manner and that the data provided by Beijing is correct.
Despite being the place where the pandemic started, China became the first major economy to recover and return to growth after suffering the economic effects of the outbreak, Xi claimed. The Asian nation had also taken “concrete efforts that helped save tens of millions of lives around the world,” the leader asserted.
The information on daily fatalities and infections released by the Chinese health authorities had been criticized previously, with American President Donald Trump back in April warning the country it may face consequences in the event its numbers are proven to have been misrepresented.
