China’s Jilin province adds 2 virus cases, Hubei 1
China’s National Health Commission (NHC) on Tuesday confirmed three additional domestically transmitted COVID-19 infections on the mainland. Two of the cases registered in the past twenty-four hours were seen in the nation’s Jilin province, with the third case recorded in Hubei, where the virus originated.
The total number of cases stood at 82,960, increasing by 6 from yesterday’s update, as three people who contracted the virus abroad were confirmed ill during the day.
The nation’s Northeastern Jilin Province is home to the city of Shulan where a coronavirus infection cluster was recently discovered, which prompted the authorities to tighten the citywide lockdown in order to contain the spread of the virus.
On the other hand, 3 people were released from hospitals during the course of the day, which brought the number of nationwide recoveries to 78,241, while the country’s coronavirus death toll remained at 4,634, as no new fatalities were seen.
