China’s manufacturing sector up in October
China’s National Bureau of Statistics’ (NBS) Purchasing Manager’s Index (PMI) for manufacturing increased to 52.1 in October, as seen in the report release by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) on Monday.
The data, compiled by the NBS, showed the nation’s factory activity landing above the neutral 50 for eight consecutive months, marking overall growth in the sector. The number was higher compared to the 51.4 figure seen in September, increasing more than the estimates suggested.
On the other hand, the official non-manufacturing PMI increased to 56.4 in October on a monthly basis, in contrast with the previous figure of 56.2.
