Chinese astronauts finish 6-hour spacewalk
China Manned Space Agency stated on Friday that its astronauts conducted a successful six-hour spacewalk outside its planned space station.
This is the second spacewalk that the astronauts conducted on this mission, as they are preparing and testing the Tianhe core module for the eventual finalization of the Tiangong, meaning Heavenly Palace, space station. The space station is planned to be fully crewed and operational by December 2022.
According to local media reports, the spacecraft, core module, and cargo craft are all “operating stably.” Furthermore, the astronauts are said to be in “good condition.” This is China’s longest-ever crewed mission, lasting three months.
