Court to review Trump’s executive privilege claim on Nov. 4
The hearing during which former United States President Donald Trump’s claim of executive privilege will be assessed will take place on November 4, a ruling by District of Columbia Judge Tanya Chutkan revealed on Friday.
The January 6 Select Committee, which handles the Capitol riot probe, requested to examine presidential records relating to the unrest, while Trump, shortly after, tried to block the process.
Trump’s ex-Chief Strategist and Senior Counselor Steve Bannon resorted to the same claim. US House of Representatives voted he was in contempt of Congress over his refusal to comply with the subpoena.
