COVID-19 cases in NYC rise by 59 to 154
The number of people that have been confirmed as infected with the coronavirus in New York City, regardless of the outcome of their condition, has was at 154 on Friday, up by 59 on a daily basis.
In the New York state, 421 have contracted the virus, up by 96 since yesterday, and 3,260 tests have been performed.
The state’s governor Andrew Cuomo stressed that he believes that “thousands and thousands” of people have contracted the virus at some point, a vast majority of which were not aware of it and recovered. The closing of schools will be decided on a local level, he added.
