Crimi says M5S will consider backing Draghi’s govt
Vito Crimi (pictured), leader of the Five Star Movement (M5S), stated on Saturday that the party is “open to considering whether the conditions are right to join the government” by former European Central Bank President Mario Draghi.
After a 90-minute meeting with the former ECB chief, the leader of the largest group in the Italian parliament noted that the party will assess Draghi’s willingness to accept the policies that M5S has proffered, and make a decision based on the assessment.
Before meeting with Crimi, Draghi also held a meeting with former Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, who unveiled that his party, the Nothern League (Lega), will decide during the next week whether to support the government.
