Croatia PM: Frugal four’s demands close to ‘right of veto’
Croatia Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic (pictured) stated on Saturday that some countries demanded “almost the right of veto” in regards to funding disbursement, during the negotiations on the European Union recovery fund that took place yesterday.
“I think that is bad, regardless of what country comes forward with it,” Plenkovic asserted while saying that the bloc’s response has to be as strong as the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier today, European Council President Charles Michel reportedly proposed a change in the EU budget and recovery agreement that would accommodate the demands of Austria, Denmark, Netherlands, and Sweeden.
