Deadly mistake to underestimate COVID-19 – WHO
The World Health Organization’s s Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus (pictured) warned on Friday that governments that think the large coronavirus epidemics won’t spread through their countries are making a “deadly mistake.”
However, experience from China and South Korea “clearly” demonstrates testing and contact tracing, along with social distancing measures can prevent infections and curb the outbreak, the official said.
In addition, Tedros announced the WHO was launching a COVID-19 solidarity response fund, to allow people and businesses to contribute to the fight against the pandemic.
