Delta reducing capacity by 40% because of pandemic
Delta Air Lines Inc. became the company to reduce its capacity due to the coronavirus outbreak, announcing it will reduce the number of flights by 40% over the next four months.
The company’s chief executive Ed Bastian said the airline is currently seeing negative net bookings over the next four months. As a result, Bastian stated he would forgo his salary for next six months.
Earlier, Deutsche Lufthansa AG said it would cut up to 50% of its flight capacity due to the pandemic.
