Djokovic ‘deeply sorry’ after Adria Tour outbreak
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic said on Tuesday that he is “deeply sorry” the coronavirus has been spread during the Adria Tour tournament recently held in Belgrade and Zadar.
“I am so deeply sorry our tournament has caused harm… We were wrong and it was too soon. I can’t express enough how sorry I am for this and every case of infection,” Djokovic said in a Twitter post.
Previously, Adria Tour was canceled after Bulgarian player Grigor Dimitrov tested positive for COVID-19, after which both Djokovic and several other competitors were also examined to found out they had contracted the disease.
